Peter Thompson is a managing director with 18 years of board level commercial experience in several major British manufacturing and service companies such as the Rover Group plc, British Aerospace and the Unipart Group. For 15 years he worked in senior central government and was private secretary to two cabinet ministers.
He has particular expertise in business start-ups, international joint ventures, corporate strategy and restructuring (including the acquisition and sale of 30 businesses, many by management buy-out) as well as partnering and trading with public sector organisations.
As a non-executive board member, he has worked with many companies, including the Unipart Group and Hutchison Telecoms during the creation and rollout of the Orange mobile communications business.
Peter studied engineering at Cambridge and international business at Harvard Business School.
He has spent 17 years mentoring and coaching as a senior manager.
